Vol. III of a four-volume set

This is the third volume in our edition of Lawrence's largest
surviving correspondence. The fourth volume, covering the years
1929-35, is scheduled for publication in 2009. Many of the letters are previously
unpublished.

Lawrence, who served with the RAF in India in 1927-8, wrote to
Charlotte Shaw almost every week. The volumes for 1927 and 1928
contain a remarkable record of that period.

The edition will be limited to 702 four-volume sets, numbered in
Vol. IV. At present this 1928 volume can be ordered on its own.

This set of route reports, on an area vital to the British defence
of Egypt during WWI, was Lawrence's first 'book'. He compiled
it while working for the Geographical Section of the General Staff
in November 1914.
